The standard I chose to focus on is VA.68.F.3.In.a which is for 6-8th grade students in the visual arts. The standard states "create, interpret, and respond to visual art developed using new or emerging technologies." This basically means students should be able to use technology in their visual arts classes to learn about how the artwork was created and why it is important. I believe I am prepared to implement this standard because I took two art classes online in high school through Florida Virtual School.      Growing up, I always used Microsoft Word for class. Anytime we submitted assignments or had to print out a document, it was through Microsoft Word. At the time I didn't know anything other than that, but once I got older and discovered Google Docs, my world changed. I like Google Docs so much more because many people can edit one document at a time. Group members can collaborate on ideas and turn in one single submission for class assignments. I also prefer the way Google Docs looks over Microsoft Word.     The ISTE standard for educators is so important in the world of education. There are so many great points made about equality in the classroom, teaching students different than you, and much more. My favorite standard is being an advocate for equitable access.      I hope to learn more about how I can incorporate technology into a child therapy practice. I want to be a child therapist when I graduate and I know technology is a really amazing tool I can use. This class will hopefully help me better understand how teachers are using it in their classrooms. Knowing what kids are already using can be helpful so I know how the technology works and how the kids adjust to learning about it.      The first experience I remember using technology in my classroom was when I went to 3rd grade. I went to a brand new school that decided to incorporate iPads into our curriculum. I remember being excited that we could use iPads in the classroom.
